What You are Looking At

Pretty much all of the work here was me designing the front end, and developing the backend coding (sometimes programmed in PHP, and output in XHTML and CSS) to bring these sites fully to life. In a few instances I have created designs that run on top of other programs, such as Wordpress, Joomla, or OS Commerce. I pretty much specialize in making CSS (and sometimes Javascript) do what other people think must be done in Flash.

Whereever possible, I avoid less accessible technologies, such as Flash, and Javascript driven menues, in favor of CSS so that screen readers and search engines have an easier time with my sites. I do love to sprinkle some AJAX in when it does not interfere with accessibility. I try to follow the ideals behind Unobtrusive Javascript, which is letting people who are able to experience more get the full meal deal, while people who cannot experience more, get the full content deal.
